Veronika was directed by jonas alexander arnby It is a character study of a woman traumatised by her job and what she has seen and felt powerless to change on the frontline of justice. The titular protagonist veronika, portrayed by alexandra rapaport, is a small town policewoman, who has a pill addiction which suppresses her psychic visions.
Veronika is probably one of the best recently released nordic noir shows within the last 3 years In a virtual ocean of crime series, veronika offers viewers something beyond the formulaic Although it is not an extraordinary serie such as wallander, the bridge, the killing or beck, it is still worth watching.
In this series set in a small town, police officer veronika gren (alexandra rapaport), a mother of two, struggles with her complicated family life and a secret pill addiction
When a police officer with a tablet addiction sees a dead boy, she questions her sanity, but she realizes that she is facing victims of unsolved crimes and that her past can help to catch a killer on the loose. Haunted by the dead and struggling with addiction and family drama while working with a skeptical new detective, veronika must convince both herself and other investigators of the unbelievable truth in order to capture the killer. Veronika finds a body in the forest at the same time as her nightmares become increasingly worse and the relationship with her husband tomas (tobias santelmann) She gradually realises that her past can help to catch a killer on the loose.
