Checking with hydro one they suggested an alternative to connect is to the neighbor's pole which is at 900ft distance from our house over the property line but that will required an easement. How difficult would it be to get a job at smaller power companues right after graduation? Hydro one is definitely a larger company with a larger scope of business, very bureaucratic, and linked closely to the government

Toronto hydro is a smaller company, less bureaucratic, but has a smaller scope of business. Ontario hydro did in fact eat the cost of a service line upgrade, it was only billed to the consumer if the distance to the consumers service location as within one pole span, if it exceeded that distance they would bill you for each pole and or primary transformer, but as the customer in this case had the right to sub it out to a licensed pole. A passerby called 911 (separate charge on your cell phone bill), and fire responded first (paid by city property taxes), then hydro one (delivery charge on your hydro bill)

This was late in the afternoon but in 4 to 5 hours the pole was replaced, new transformer installed and power was restored to the houses affected.

It was harris, a conservative, that broke up ontario hydro and sold a bunch of the subsidiaries Wynne, a liberal this time, sold a bunch of ontario's shares in hydro one The province is still the largest shareholder at 47%, though Both parties will do what they can to make a quick buck at the cost of long term sustainability

As a result, they wanted me to pay for my portion of a new transformer (hard to believe, but this was their explanation). Hydro one vs alectra (powerstream) for new build hi, moving shortly to a new build in tottenham, simcoe county I'm new to the whole thing, but have to register for a electricity account Is there any difference in hydro on vs alectra

Is any better than the other, i assume they charge the same rates?

I (19m) am currently a 309a electrical apprentice looking to make a jump to a powerline tech career preferably through hydro one I live just north of toronto and i've heard good things about hydro one apprenticeships and their union pwu But i've also heard it's incredibly hard to get into. You can call hydro and ask them for the average monthly bill for the unit

So if you have high energy usage ask hydro to be enrolled in their energy programs
