I got a 34 on my aleks math placement test and they told me at orientation unless i plan to go into a math oriented field i would never have to take math again If you have not had precalc, you need to take that first. I’m not sure what components go into deciding that but my only credit towards math would have been the passing score i got on my ap statistics exam.

@gracewithin the aleks placement test is designed to help you not only place in the correct course for your ability but also to help you place into the class you want to take Based on what you stated and the website you do not have the prerequisites for placement in calc Since there is only one test for all levels of math and the topics could be determined by the college, it is hard to say how hard it will be for you to get a 46

However, if you don’t get the score you want/need on.

I am wondering which test is a better option, sticking with aleks or using the study guides from aleks and apply it to the clep to test out of college level math (general ed requirment). Since aleks gets ace credit they need to keep the integrity of there courses from being easy to cheat If you mean to paste the problem into a document to print and study once you ask for an explanation you can print it out for further reference. The aleks theory is that it just naturally expands one’s math understanding without really needing lectures/detailed explanations, using an artificial intelligence engine to keep presenting kids with the “next step” of math

It sort of works, but when a kid does hit something that really isn’t making sense to them, the terse aleks. I just finished 3 semesters of calculus using mymathlab, and i would say aleks is a good comparison. Aleks assessment question discussion in ' general distance learning discussions ' started by kujo, dec 20, 2009. Aleks has 3 ace approved stats courses (intro to stats, business stats, & stats for behavioral sciences.) they're pretty much the same course, some of the questions are worded differently (the business courses use business examples in the word problems and so on.) the transcript will come from ace, so if you school will accept ace credit courses, you should be good, i'd check with them first.

I recently took the aleks math placement test to determine what my first college math course will be, and i received a score of 69

My college requires a score of 46+ to take college algebra, and a score of 61+ to take calculus Although my score qualifies me to take calc, i feel far more comfortable starting with college algebra. What is the highest math you completed in high school
