Ultrasonic listens for the noise of any gas escaping from a leak The ultrasonic converts the noise that a leak makes at 40,000 hz and converts it to a frequency that humans can hear. It listens for sound that we cannot hear.

Ultrasonic leak detectors i’m seriously considering selling a couple of like new leak detectors and getting an ultrasonic I have an ultrasonic, a heated diode, and an infrared type detector Based on the information i can find, they look far superior to sniffer types

I’m considering the accutrak vpe

Does anyone have any experience with them? My 2nd fieldpiece sniffer just took a shit I keep hearing how these sniffers just don't last long I've never used an ultrasonic leak detector but…

I'd also like to mention that ultrasonic leak detectors are pretty good too I have one and was able to use it to pinpoint leaks that my detector was struggling with That's one of the best leak detectors i've ever used Very accurate reply reply jmp101694 •• edited fwiw, my hand me down tif kicked the bucket this week after 22 years of life and was reliable up til the end reply reply more repliesmore replies noshoez • reply reply ryansmokinbluntz420 • the stratus kicks the bacharach pgm ir's ass reply reply more replies.

I've never used an ultrasonic leak detector

I'm on my 2nd fieldpiece sniffer and it's acting up on me What one should i get for detecting small leaks? Lol, you're at it again Preaching about the virtues of the ultrasonic leak detector

You almost have me convinced to add this to my van On the rare occasion that either of them don't find the leak i will resort to using spectroline. Have any of you out there used an ultrasonic leak detector for finding wind noises If so, what do you think, how did it work and what brands are you using

The fieldpiece and inficon units in heated diode are also excellent

Ultrasonic will deliver the best results for actually trying to pinpoint leaks So if your work is such that you need to be able to find and repair the leak, not just sell someone a new coil, it's going to be the most useful, but it's the least easy to use, ime.
